In 30 minutes, enough solar energy reaches the earth’s surface to meet the world’s total energy demand for a full year. If this vast natural resource is captured and ‘harvested’ before contact with the earth, it exists in virtually inexhaustible quantities.

Here in the UK, we have an immense solar resource, as much as 55% of that available at the equator, and modern solar panels even work efficiently in low light or cloudy conditions.

There are generally two types of solar panel suitable for use in the home : solar thermal panels, which produce hot water, and solar photovoltaic (pv) panels which produce electricity.
