Rainwater Harvesting - Whitewaters Energy

Water storageThe collection, treatment and delivery of drinking water to our homes accounts for a vast amount of energy, and makes a significant contribution towards the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions.

On average, we use 160 litres of drinking water per day, more than half of which need not be drinking water standard. Appliances such as WCs, washing machines and garden hoses can work efficiently with much lower grade water. By collecting and using clean rainwater in such appliances, you can not only reduce your carbon footprint, but also cut water bills by up to 50%.

Modern rainwater harvesting systems are discreet, highly automated and reliable. Water that falls naturally onto the roof is filtered and directed into an underground storage tank, from where it is pumped into the house. If the tank runs empty, the system automatically switches to mains supply.
